Amber Heard has reportedly changed her name

Amber Heard has reportedly changed her name and moved to a new continent.

In 2022, the actress famously lost her high-profile defamation case against The Pirates of the Caribbean actor Johnny Depp.

The former couple was embroiled in a much-publicized court battle after Depp brought the defamation case against Heard over a 2018 op-ed she had written about being the victim of domestic abuse.

The jury ruled that her 2018 Washington Post article titled “I spoke up against sexual violence – and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change” was defamatory.

She was ordered to pay $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages. The latter sum was reduced to $350,000 to comply with a state statutory cap.

Now, Heard is reportedly using the name of a famous American sharpshooter in order to rent a luxury villa in Spain.

Following the loss of her highly publicized lawsuit against her ex-husband, Heard is reportedly using a pseudonym to evade publicity while she vacations in Mallorca.

According to the Spanish newspaper El Mundo, the Pineapple Express star has been using the name Martha Jane Cannary, the famous frontierswoman who is perhaps better known as Calamity Jane.

Calamity Jane was famous for being a gun-slinging hard-drinking woman, with the Missouri native having appeared in Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Shows in the late 1800s during the USA’s cowboy era, per Biography.

In popular culture, the charitable hero has been depicted in HBO series, Deadwood – a series about people living in the South Dakota town of Deadwood, where Calamity Jane once lived with Wild Bill Hilcock.

Heard and Depp made headlines while battling out their bitter dispute in a tense six-week lawsuit in Virginia, USA. Depp had sued his former wife for defamation after she published an op-ed for The Washington Post in 2018 that alluded to Depp being an abuser – though, she did not mention him by name.

The jury heard shocking evidence about the former couple’s relationship – including details of a physical fight in Australia that left Depp with a bloody, severed finger.

Eventually, the seven-member jury awarded Depp a total of $15 million in damages – $10 million in compensatory, and $5 million in punitive. Heard was awarded $2 million in compensatory defamation damages, The New York Post reported.

Since then, Heard has been spotted in The Hamptons, Israel’s Tel Aviv, and more recently has been staying in Mallorca, according to El Mundo.

A man named Miguel, revealed to El Mundo how the Aquaman actress has settled into the local community, stating: “Everyone here treats her like one of the others; in fact, she’s been in this town for months without anyone knowing.”

The 36-year-old also allegedly “speaks Spanish with a Mexican accent,” and dotes on her daughter, Oonagh, “like any other mother,” locals have said.

According to the paper, the home – located in Costix – that the actress is renting was previously listed for $2.7 million – at more than 5,000 square feet, the home also boasts an infinity pool and even a home theater.

El Mundo also reported that the home currently belongs to Maria Antònia Munar, a disgraced politician who served a seven-year sentence after being convicted of corruption.
