Cameron Diaz, at the age of 51, has recently become a mother for the second time! Alongside her husband Benji Madden, who is 45 years old, they joyfully announced the birth of their son, Cardinal Madden, on Friday.
The couple shared their exciting news through a heartwarming joint social media post that featured a beautiful drawing. The drawing reads, “A little bird whispered to me”. The caption continues, “We are blessed and excited to announce the birth of our son, Cardinal Madden. He is awesome, and we are all so happy he is here! For the kid’s safety and privacy, we won’t be posting any pictures, but trust us, he’s really cute. We feel incredibly blessed and grateful. Sending much love from our family to yours. Best wishes and good afternoon!”
Diaz and Madden tied the knot in 2015 and also have a daughter named Raddix together.
The post was showered with love and support from fans and friends. Katy Perry commented, “Another Earth angel”, while Benji’s brothers Joel and Josh expressed their excitement through a series of heart emojis.
As they did with their daughter, the couple won’t be sharing any photos of their newborn baby. They value their children’s privacy and prefer to keep their family life out of the public eye.
Cameron Diaz, known for her roles in movies like Charlie’s Angels, has been open about her journey into motherhood. In a recent interview with Gwyneth Paltrow for Goop’s podcast, she discussed how becoming a mother has transformed her perception of aging. She shared, “It’s totally opened up, I’m excited. I’ve got 50 or 60 years to go—I want to live to be 110, since I’ve got a young child. I think you have this amazing moment in your 40s where you appreciate who your parents are, and I want to have that moment with her—be there with her in her 40s.”
While many fans were quick to share their congratulations, there were also some who criticized Diaz for having a child at her age. However, neither Diaz nor Madden seem to pay attention to the negativity. They are too busy celebrating their new addition to the family!
